How to Translate and Dub Any YouTube Video with FyDub (2026 Guide)
Last updated July 22, 2026 (FyDub v2.0)
Subtitles are helpful—but actually hearing a video in your own language is even better. FyDub adds a Translate Video button under every YouTube player and streams a perfectly synced dub in one of 27 languages. Follow these quick steps to get started.
1 · Install FyDub (Chrome or Edge)
- Open the Chrome Web Store listing.
- Click Add to Chrome → Add extension.
- Pin the FyDub icon so it stays visible in your toolbar.
FYI: The extension has over 1 000 active users and a 4.2★ rating as of July 2026.
2 · Translate your first video
- Play any YouTube video in a foreign language.
- Click Translate Video.
- Select your Target language and choose a Voice.
- Wait ≈5 s while FyDub prepares a synchronized dub—then enjoy!
3 · Adjust audio and voices
- Mix original & dub: Use the two volume sliders to keep a bit of the original voice underneath.
- Change language on the fly: The side panel lets you swap to any of the 27 supported languages without restarting.
- Translate Search: On the YouTube results page, click Translate Search to discover foreign‑language videos that match your query.
4 · Understand your free usage
The Free plan gives you a monthly pool of minutes (enough for casual viewing) and does not require an account or credit card. Upgrade whenever you need unlimited dubbing and extra voices.
5 · Privacy & data
FyDub only sends the public video ID and your chosen language to its servers. No personal data or browsing history is transmitted.
Troubleshooting tips
- No Translate Video button? Reload the tab or check that FyDub is enabled in the Extensions menu.
- Dub starts late? On shaky connections, initial processing may take up to 15 s—wait or lower playback quality.
- Audio out of sync? Click Resync in the side panel to realign.
